Did you know that cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of premature death (before age 70) worldwide? The World Health Organization (WHO) conducted a survey in 2012 and found that 68% of deaths are due to chronic non-communicable diseases that are not resolved in a short time, especially cardiovascular (heart and blood vessel), respiratory, cancer and diabetes.
But many lives can be saved with little attitudes! To help poor people better care for their health, CIES Global has launched the Preventive Medical Program (PMP), an innovative solution that guides patients about their health conditions and the risks they run through a medical consultation and completion of simple and quick exams.
The program demonstrates how small changes, which include healthy eating and physical activity, for example, can make a difference to living well and with longevity. At the end of the process, the patient watches an educational health video and receives a pen card (electronic chip card that can be used on the computer) with all of their medical information. If the doctor considers additional tests necessary, they can be done at CIES itself, with a day and time schedule.
In the PMP are included:
Currently, PMP and complementary exams can be done in the CIES’ units in São Paulo. And in the United States of America, we provide PMP in our Health Truck in Atlanta city and places around.
